L'examen oral. Oral exam: all-French
lesson possible, or speak partly in English if you're not quite ready to
take the plunge! I have a special tape of sample questions and
answers on a variety of oral topics, which you can have free of charge for
you own use. Teaching of all parts of the oral exam, including topics,
discussion and role-plays. Videos, audio cassettes, books and past
papers can be loaned free and give you
advice on the latest Internet websites for you to find out more about your
topic.
-
L'examen aural. Listening exam: often the A level student finds the listening exam
the most challenging. If this is you, we can do
listening practice weekly, using a wide variety of cassettes. I give
help with vocabulary sheets and teach you how to listen 'for gist'. You can
also take tapes home to practice.
-
L'examen écrit. Written exam: if
you know your grammar you'll write better! I
have notes on every aspect of A level grammar, and exercises in context, ie
using A level subject matter. Many students become fascinated by grammar -
it repays the study many times over in terms of raised confidence..

-
L'examen de littérature. Literature exam: if
you are sitting a 'topics and texts' exam in year 13 I can help you understand and interpret set texts.
I can also lend you other books if you want to read round the subject. The A
level literature exam concentrates on you knowing the text very well, and
being able to discuss plot and character in depth, so you can spend your
tuition time discussing (in French if possible) the literary texts.

Le "coursework" A level.
A level coursework: coursework is a daunting prospect for many students. I can
help kick start ideas to get you thinking along the right lines, although I
abide by the strict exam rules as regards writing the coursework.
