1: masculine and feminine
agreements
An
adjective agrees with the noun it describes
Feminine
Add e
to the adjective to make it feminine (when it describes a feminine word).

If the
adjective already ends in e
in the masculine there is no change in the feminine.

Similarly
add es
to the adjective to make it feminine plural.
Ma

My mother and my sister are tall

Add an s
to the adjective to make it masculine plural (when it describes a masculine
plural word)

hair (nb les cheveux – hair- is masculine
plural in French)
If the
adjective already ends in
s in the masculine there is no change in the masculine plural.

Marron
brown (describing eyes) and chic
smart/ chic do not agree with the
noun. We call them invariable
adjectives.
